FMF: Knowledge is Power, Just not Yours...
Hey There World,
Glad to see you again in the written form. I love you for real. So I'm asking real questions, speaking real thoughts, thinking critically with the very small amount of information I've acquired over time. So... Alright then.
"Knowledge is Power" - I remember hearing that somewhere at an early age. At some point in time we all may have experienced the self image of OPO (Odd Person Out). For whatever reason, may it be, how smart you are or how tall you are, where you come from, what you wear, how you speak, your width, color, freckles, hair, smile, feet or family. You might've been well of or come from a wealthy or highly educated family, so, what? We're all people right? All have feeling? All want some love and security, right? Ok. glad we got all of the commonalities out. For me it was not knowing something.
I don't remember the first time I was told "You don't know". But I remember hating the feeling. I wanted to know everything. If you won't speak, I will. If you don't tell me, I'll find out anyway. There we're hundred of ways to piece together information about anything or anyone if one would just take a moment to put the pieces in their proper place.
It didn't matter if anyone knew that I knew what I knew... or how much.
But One thing that I understood. Knowing is much better than not knowing. It's within us, just ask to show a child how to do something "right"... "No, I can do it/ I know how to do it/ please let me do it"... Nothing wrong with ambition... I applaud you tenacious children. I love you.
But some of us in the world have not learned or let go of this bad habit. Receiving instruction. But, "knowledge is power"... yea. If it is actually knowledge of true form. I'm sorry that sounds so proper, it's not how I talk normally, I don't think anyway. Probably why this all sound like gibberjab. Ok, Lets zero in then.
We live in an information age right. So I've been told. But information is not knowledge. Stick with me. Knowledge is the sum of what can be known. For us, we narrow that down to a series of topics. But knowledge vs mere information does us no go. What POWER is there is constantly regurgitating information that has already past. It's all the feelings and opinions that separate the two. It's seems that we have fallen out of place when it comes to applying knowledge that moves things. Gives those causes legs, awareness, education, stability. It is the knowledge, the sum of what can or needs to be known, the know how, so you can do, can be, can stand, can resist or assist. KNOWLEDGE is Power.
But we like information. Too much information, you're getting lost in your feelings, reacting and not responding. Whining and complaining. I tell you what, Start meeting together for real. Behind some closed doors. Peacefully, lawfully, tactfully, preparing to present or make way. Be quiet. Be organized. Be ready. Too much information is still chaos. Don't confuse free speech with venting opinions, passing mere information, and getting your two cents in. Use knowledge. All these feelings keeping the masses in a frenzy of endless information, all trying to catch up and keep up with each other. It's a distraction. Because those with the knowledge, do. And while they're doing, all you find out is the information. Alot of people are walking around with computers in there pockets and purses and won't use them well. Knowledge is power, just not yours... so get it together.
The whole idea behind "knowledge is power"
is that ignorance "is not" bliss.
When you know better, you can make a better way.

Why Earning Trust can be Misleading (Follow-up to "Why Do You Trust?)
My Peoples, Hello...
What a topic to tackle. So I'll get straight to some of the thoughts I have on Trust. All week long I had very meaningful conversations with many of you around the world. One common phrase was continually spoken and those words reads as follow: "you know people have to "earn" your trust."
"Earn it, ay?"
Why?
I mean. I really can't stand nicely crafted common sayings. and just like "dating", I'm really struggling with the idea of having to ever earn anyone's trust again.
Can I please take a moment to say and confirm something - "Just because someone won't trust you, does not mean you are untrustworthy." You tell them the Valet said that. Glad that's covered right! (not a question)
Now. Why is earning trust misleading?
I hope that I can simplify it so that I don't ramble. I've spent all week rambling.
Trust is not a tangible object, nor is love, or kindness. Therefore they are not earned, they are something that a person possesses that they willingly give. Now I'm not a preacher, but you can say "amen" if you want to, lol.
We all understand what it is to "earn" a paycheck. We work, they exchange that value in money. If you "earn" a promotion(at work), you are performing above and beyond, or completing more task and maintaining more responsibility. When you earn points on a card, it is because you are already making purchases.
Earning trust is like working for six months, with no pay, and the job deciding after it all, whether or not you did a good enough job, based on a rubric you did not know. A lot of you may be thinking about an internship you once worked. They idea is that people want you to value what they give you. But why only when it's based in their own selfish comforts. What do I mean?
Should I work for something that you will not give me, based on no particular rubric, for an amount of time that cannot be determined, just for you to eventually give it to me anyway; or not. The idea is nonsense. But this is the cycle that takes place, and frankly, it is wasteful. You don't trust me now. That's OK. If one one day you do, fantastic. And if you don't, that is always your choice.
But know this. Whether you give it or not, if you do, it's not yours anymore. So let's get real. If trust could be earned, then it would be too easy, I would know how to earn it, I would get it, do what I wanted with it and then my mission would be done. Sound familiar. I mean no offense to my ladies who were once young or are now. But I compare earning trust to a young man who purposely woo's a young lady and plays the role to get the trust so he can get the sex without the ring, without the tie, without the bind, without the commitment. And after he's earned that trust. PROBLEMS. We might all agree that kids don't need to give that kind of trust to each other, but they do, and they are.
Now, I don't want to distract you so let me wrap this up. I hope you respond and help me think through this more. I'm not by far pessimistic or a downer. I'm just trying to exercise thoroughness in my thinking and reasoning because I argue to learn. So.
Trust is yours. You give it to whom you choose for reasons that belong to you. That trust cannot be regulated. Sometimes, it takes time, for you to build your own confidence the character of another, but don't mistake that for an "in-between trust ". That's not real. Either you do not trust, or you do. It's OK. If you don't trust and are taking time to evaluate a person cool. My advice to myself is not to assume that anyone trust me or has to. It's simple. But as far as my character or me being trustworthy and integral or capable.... not up to you.
It's just like my job. I Valet. It's my JOB. People don't trust me. But leave their car with me anyway. It's my job, lol.

Dating with a Hint of Singleness or Dating without being able to Define The Realationship (Friday Follow-Up)
Happy Friday Follow-Up my Friend,
Monday I talked about dating for a few minutes. I've spent the last few days talking with as many people as possible about dating and views on relationships. Also I've done a bit of research online. It's 2016, weed out the extreme cases and you find patterns and threads. The information is pretty exhaustive so I'm going to do my best to shorten that. If you're ready for me to start this conversation then read on. If you are not ready to hear it, especially from Me, well read on anyway because I love you.
I'll write a book on this one day and it'll be so fun.
Now, on to Dating!... in short.
Let's define dating for everyone right now. This is not "your views" on dating, your parents/your friends/ your culture/ nothing. I'm going to use the dictionary, the universal shut-up to all of us right? I don't know why I wrote that. Here is Merriam-Websters definition that I'm using:
date -"a person with whom one has a usually romantic date" or
dating - "to go on usually romantic dates" as in plural to the single date.
or
date - "an arrangement to meet between two people usually with romantic feeling for each other" or dating - "to go together regularly on romantic social engagements"
There! After almost 10 years of not acknowledging dating as a real thing, I just did it. I just want to thank my mom(lol), all my family and friends(lol), my supporters, my haters(lol) , and anyone who ever (lol) doubted me (lol) or said I couldn't do it. This ones for you. (*applauds everywhere)
So for all of you out there who think You can tell Me what You Think "dating is for you" is, or anyone else for that matter, just know that I'm going to hit you with this definition before I run it and apply it. Cause I'm a beast at this OK. Get at me bro! hahahaha(you know who you are).
There's always been a definition. So what the heck is going on in the world. Somebody's been telling us lies I think. Oh, no?Well let's find out then. Im gonna need your input then, OK? Don't wait too long.
So I am not against relationships. I love them and we need them. So to be clear, relationships CAN be defined, and are in fact defined. They are characterized by their state of being, i.e.: we are family, we are friends, we are engaged etc etc... These are the state of relationships... BUT DATING!
Aww man. That's a state of doing... two people are not "the date", the date, is what two people DO.
And this becomes my problem.
Do you think that your relationship (civil union, engagement, marriage) will be birthed out of and solidified based on simply doing things together. Notice I did not say living life together. You don't date your friends or family, yet you do things with them.
Based on the definition of dating it is clear that the motive is not actually establishing a relationship. But participating (usually) in romantic engagements.
There is nothing that actually suggest making any long term commitment, establishing exclusivity, seeking marriage, (my very best) getting to know someone, or building trust. There is so much I can say, but i hope you understand this. There is no binding, no ownership, no possession and no hidden motive in dating. Let's do something! That's all right? other than the romance part. The romance based on fiction stories from the middle-ages. Rephrase: Let's have some ideal love affair, adventure, or be my hero for a moment please, can we do that? And usual the results are: "yes" lets date and often more than not "no, we're not dating anymore." or "we're dating, but I don't know if we're friends or lovers, because we're definitely not engaged or married."
And there is so much confusion in not actually having a relationship with someone you may be doing so much with. Thus some become friends who become sexual, or strangers. Maybe lovers who can't seem to become friends. Maybe strangers who can't seem to become either, but just like what they do together. But a relationship? I still can't call it.
You can't only be single when you're not dating, or engaged or involved. You are quite literally "Single" until your married or in a civil union. The LGBT community understand this, and this is why they fight for "Marriage Equality"... So what makes anyone think otherwise? And don't get me started on "us Christians". Maybe in a separate post.
There is no: more than a friend less than a spouse but something like a lover relationship. And i know your brain is probably screaming, "WELL WHAT THEN?"
...Biz Markie yall! aha.
of course that's for Monday's post. Stay Tune. Engage.
oh yea, some links to help you start you dating research... let me know have fun.

The Intangible Romance... (follow up Monday #31 8/1/16 post)
World! Hello...
I love you all, for real, thank you for reading, watching and listening. It's been a great year so far and will continue. So, thank You! Now, to this Romantic Relationship mind twist.
I'll try to be quick. I don't think there are enough arguments, detail and history to want to anyway.
Here in the year of 2016, at the tinder <<< (ha, tinder) which I'll never use)... age of 29, I realized that I've been fooled once again. Not but any particular person but rather culture and idealism. I'm specifically talking about the Romantic Relationship... Are you ready? You ,don't have to agree, I'm just asking for a few minutes to tell why. Yes, it's subjective and relative but maybe you'll feel the same. What it's become we don't argue. Times change culture. But what "is" it? Because if I knew what "it" was, then maybe I could master "it"... I mean shoooooot, I want a Wife and I want some kids, and you know what that means lol... sorry, that was supposed to be Romantic.
Google Romance or Romantic for a basic premise.
I like Merriam Webster... it's old, I grew up with it, I'll keep using it. (disclaimer)
Romance is based out of a story and time of stories. Adventure, Heroism, Idealism... somewhere I read identified between the 14-17 centuries. 300yrs. I know right. keep going.
It was chivalric. You know, knights, honor, loyalty, manners and stuff like that. Think about it; middle ages/wars/plagues/wars/ravaging/wars/religious decline/wars... etc. etc.
So, yea, the idea of Romance and an Ideal love affair and adventure and a hero and something, anything, please tell me a story of a life better than this...
And in a personal way The Idea was that whether it worked out or not, it was Romantic.
So in turn, Romance gave people a new perspective, that if they could idealize their situation in some way they at least had Romance. What a relief right!
We understand the power of Words and Ideas.
Now this is just foundation talk. Unfortunately, romance is not a real thing, not a fact, and not a foundation. But an Idea of a story applied to a story, our story. and we like it, even if it's "not based in fact".....
This is the part where I just lifted my head from my hands, knowing I might lose some readers and followers.
Your "Romantic Relationship" is fake or not an actual thing. It does not exist. You may view some things as romantic, you may try to appear romantic, you may aspire and long to be romantic or romanced but "to have", "to be", a romantic relationship. I'm not sure. I would've said maybe if your married, but with all these divorces and dying romances. I guess there's a better way to be married. shh, that's for future post.
Maybe, just maybe, you(used generically as "we all" if applicable) had sex, a moment, a day, a happening or some time and thought the situation romance or romantic.
Sorry, but when it comes to labeling of things that Are: i.e. we are family, we are friends, we are married, we are acquainted... but we are romantic is not a state of being. Just like, "we are dating" isn't... That my friend is a state of doing... but that's for next Monday...
Some of yall might not like me no more. I accept that. It's OK.
I didn't write to kill your romantic hopes. But rather say, Don't get it twisted, it's done enough damage to some of us. Because romance is ideal, as in, something we can regard, imagine, and personally apply to the "it" rather than seeing romance as the "it", then hold that. It's OK, to let romance present itself. But don't expect it to stay, be a solution or even a foundation.
I personally think that Romance is best suited for the married. What better to learn of someone's Ideal love affair(validity) and then apply it and then re-apply it over a shared lifetime. Anything else remains as a mere memory and passing moment in some sad yet temporarily gratifying blink... Maybe that's what got me all messed up in the first place. The cultural and ideal misplacing and mismanaging presentation of The Most Intangible Romance.
What do you think?
At least I didn't talk about "falling in love" right?... lol

How Are Your Relationships? Look Deeper (Follow-Up Post)
When I ask: How are your relationships; who or what do you think of?
Okay, google search relationship and you'll find: "the way in which two or more concepts, objects, or people are connected, or the state of being connected." (google, lol)
So listen, whether you believe it or not, your relationships have had more impact on your life than anything else in this world. From the moment you were birthed and breathed that good ole Oxygen, the people, community, region and your place in this world of relations have influenced, shaped and helped you, yes you to become you. Whether you like it or not.
Now that we have the generic out of the way. Let's go deeper.
Let's talk about Living to be Known.
BELIEF: What is the basis of your relationships and what do they/it mean to you?
i.e. - My family is most important/ I can't live without my phone/ I don't trust men etc. etc.
What you believe about someone or something comes from experience and is personally catered by you for your benefit according to your logic. Might be true, might not be, but you believe it. And with that you place them/it in a relational category. The things you like, dislike, and ignore all bear their weight and have their affects. I know I don't always see them, sometimes I don't want to, sometimes I over-think it.
KNOWLEDGE: How much do you know them/it and how well do they/it know you? How much time has been invested?
i.e. - I talk to _ everyday/I know my friend like i know myself/I don't like to talk about my personal life etc. etc.
Why are some relationships closer than others? Do know or at least feel like you know the people closer to you better than others? Or maybe that's the reason some relationships are strained. We know and have experienced too much or enough that once it informs our belief, or lack of, we cannot take back what we know.
"People only trust two things: What they know and what they don't know." - Valet
PRACTICE: What does any given relationship do for you? How do they make you feel? What do you do for them?
i.e. - They're honest/ I feel secure around them or it/ they're funny/ They're not dependable/ They Gossip etc. etc.
We like to be around people we share similarities with. The myth that opposites attract more so has to do with what you have in common rather than what you don't. The Value that you believe or know someone brings, or doesn't, and how you see them/it will directly affect your actions around or towards them. For many perception is reality, but what is done cannot be undone, only understood.
RELATIONSHIP: Where/what is your place in my life? what/where is my place in your life?
i.e. - He's more than a friend, he's my brother/ She's like my second mom/ I just say "hi" in passing/ we play sport once a week etc. etc.
The World is becoming a more diverse place everyday. From the beloved royal to the orphaned beggar we've all been given a label and a place. Yet and still we chose. We have given labels to each other according to who we are or have become to one another. Learning to manage our relationships is one of the most important things we can do. Who we spend our time with and the influence that comes with it should be as important to us as our own lives. Your bartender, coach, parent, friend, bus drives and food server all are someone to us.
COMMUNICATION: How you speak, how you act, when you do it, how you do it, how well we listen. These things all mean something to someone else. This is probably the hardest for people.
i.e. - I don't like they're tone/ I feel uncomfortable around ?/ You talk too fast/ why won't you look me in the eye etc. etc.
Communication is two sided. One must send and the other receive. Even if the messages aren't clear. We learn to communicate from what we see, hear and other surrounding factors. We sometimes pick -up habits, phrases, and accents without recognizing it. How we express joy, anger, frustration, attraction, and how we deal with different issues in life are all connected to our relationships and how we communicate in them.
FINANCE: How do you spend? How do you save? Do you invest? Who have you learned from? Does your money work for you or do you work for it?
i.e. - Poor people always.../ Rich people are like.../ You don't look like you have money etc. etc.
How much money you have, what you do with it, credit, assets, risk, debt, earnings, expenses, wages, taxes etc. etc.
Why don't we often see the wealthy visiting areas of those in poverty? Why do those with different opportunity and resources act, speak and understand the things of life differently? It's because finances make a difference. Understanding money and how it works in the world we live in is important. What decisions do good money managers make versus bad money managers? Why is it important to know what 1 million is worth? Why is it important to understand monetary value, what it does to the brain and the affects that it can have on you and those around you? Why isn't the neighborhood park clean? Why are there no grocery stores where you live?
Essentially, Relationships are important. And you have relationships with things and people you probably have not recognized you do. The truth is that if it is connected to you or you to it, that it's a relationship.
I just want you to love them. Value them. See them be all that you hope and help you along the way as you help me. We're in this together. I love yall.

Is it your family, friends or romantic partners?
Is it co-workers, clients, supporters or strangers(fans/followers)?
It it your pet(s)?
Your Technology?
Your Books?
Fear/Anxiety/Excitement/Thrill?
Or do you join the millions of people around the world who might secretly feel and softly say, "what relationships? I'm alone out here."
Well I have the GREATEST NEWS!
You!
You're just like me. Or is it that I'm just like you?
"Ha! What do you know about me?"... did I just read your mind?
Nope!
So since we have that out of the way, I have so much to say. But I'll try to keep it short.
First, I Love You. and Thank You for reading...

Living to be Known: Knowing the Way to What You Want (follow-up blog post)
Hello World, Shout Out to YOU!
Thank You for the small amount of time and space. I see you all and I love yall. I mean it.
So this past Monday, I talked about knowing the way to what you want. Before now it's been a self soothing first quarter of the year. Mostly because everything I've talked about has been very thought full. Thinking about what we believe, how we see and understand ourselves and each other. Thinking about what we want, reality and perception, assumptions and what we know versus what we think. Yep, it's been full of thoughts. But when I think about the way, to attain, the things I want, I start hesitating. Does anyone relate? I'll try to explain.
The simple things of life I feel I've got covered. When I want to eat, I feed myself. When I want to feel fresh, I wash. When I want to watch a movie, I go. And when I want to go to sleep, everything fights against it, haha lol. Such is life, right? Those wants are covered.
What about that job I've always wanted though? What if I want more passion for something in life? What if I want to own a business? Travel? Publish? Act?
What if I just want to maintain? Survive? Love? Learn? Teach?
What if I want meaning? or peace? or more laughs?
What if I want a jetski or a small boat darnit! <<(rated pg)
Or...
Or...
A bunch of kids and a crazy life with a wife that won't tell me what to do, but will cook, because I don't tell her what to do and... well you get it.
In my video I said that Kids have it the best when it comes to knowing what they want, because they don't know as much and they can make it up. If a kid wants to be a dinosaur, RAAWWR!!!. That's it, it's been done. I like that about kids. But, if an adult wants to be a dinosaur, like for real, then it isn't the same. I'm sure you understand.
I don't want to be happy. It's not a goal of mine. Happy is not a noun, it's a result. I just made that up, but I'm willing to run on it. I don't want superhero strength, to be any taller, nor do I want to fall in love. These cannot be attained through my own efforts. So they are not included in my conversation.
So what then? Right?
You, want to know, the way, to what you want. And so do I.
What's this all have to do with Living to be Known? Everything! Which one of us want to be known for not knowing the way to what we want? You don't have to comment, stand up or raise your hand.
I'll start at belief.
A reason you might want to know the way, is because you believe that thing is attainable. You know that because you may have seen it done before. If you have not, you might believe it can be done, and now you need to just find a way. Belief can do you good here. We all believe some things, about some things. If you believe there's a way, as far as it has to do with you, then go. If you believe there's a way, that's all you need to find out.
Now, we only know as much as we know. Which obviously isn't enough. And that's nothing to fret about. Knowledge is necessary. Say that a few times. Humans have lived on the earth for thousands of years. And although we don't always get it right, we're still living. So I bet if the thing you want has been done before, that you can find out who did it, how, and maybe even why. Remember what school guidance counselors are for? To help tell, show and lead you in the direction of things you do not know, exploring and making options clear to us, so that we can succeed. I never went to my counselors, but there is a benefit right. Even then there's probably a book on it, google it, youtube it, ask someone. The whole point is that belief and knowledge go together. There is a way, our job is to find it and do it.
So how are things? We all practice some stuff. Sometimes the things we practice may be in the way of what we want. Can't be healthy with bad health practices. You want a job? Have you been practicing filling out applications? Getting places on time? have a good attitude? Are you doing that repeatedly. Practice doesn't make perfect, it makes better.
The relationships you build and have with people are key. Don't overlook how instrumental mentors are. Don't be afraid to ask for help or even be denied help. Keep people around you that encourage you and cheer you on, that challenge and cultivate a healthy friendship, family or business relationships. You'll find that along the way you'll meet some who have gone your direction and others who have not. As you get older, your role in how you help another becomes key too.
Please let what you need be known. If you don't communicate how will anyone know. Your are not invisible. In the same way that we write books, make songs, record on video, call, text and whatever to communicate to the next person, you must find a way also.
Listen, there's no quick way to a million. But there are plenty of ways to get there. I'm working on finding some ways myself. Don't be fooled, keys to money are no secret. But there is a big misconception that when it comes to wanting money. We all understand that we need money. We, even if not admitted, probably all would like more money. But I've witnessed that although money may change ones standard of living, it actually is not a major factor to the quality of life one experiences. Just a thought.
What do you think? I can't tell you a universal way to what you want other than to get after it. We all have to go through it. That's why I cannot tell you how to "get" what you want. I don't know that. I just know that there may be a way. Now, if that sounds boring then I'm sorry. At least you can't say you don't have anything to do in life. haha. I love yall.
New audio track coming monday along with another Living to be Known video.. Im excited. Song is called "don't do it". hip-hop yall. gotta do it. AHA!
