(Thinking About It Pt.3)... A Look into Perspective

Today is Dec 30th, 2015. My Moms Birthday!!! Happy birthday mom you look beautiful as ever. You know Black don't crak and you been looking the same since the day you gave birth to me. For that I thank You. And for a portion of my great looks. I couldn't have done it without you!

My favorite day of the month. I read Proverbs 30, which is my favorite Proverb. But it's also the last post date for "Perspective."

You may or may not have been following the music along with each blog entry post but that is OK. If you went on youtube and searched for "Valet Del Roy", you'll find me. What's even more exciting is all the new content I have coming for you in this coming year. New music, poetry, short stories, blogs and video... Ohhhh I think we're going to have some fun.

Thinking About It is the last and final track piece to "Perspective", a music project I composed over a few years of my young adult life from the years 2007 - 2012. We don't need to go into further detail now because I have so much to share. It's a loaded verse ain't it. Please Enjoy.

I hope you find some time to check out the full project on YouTube or Soundcloud. Look out for a special blog tomorrow before we kick off 2016 in full effect. I love yall. Thanks for reading and letting me get into you life. Peace and blessing.

(State of Confusion)... a Look into Perspective

In my teen years, I was absolutely wrapped in my own sight. I'm about 87% sure. Not because I have actual figures of data, just what I've experienced in my life. I wouldn't say that I had tunnel vision, but I would say that my vantage point ruled over others. I had been completely involved in a lot of the mess that comes with adolescence: The attitude, the dating, the looseness, the recklessness, the fights, the drugs, The EVERYthing!

So late in 2007, when I was "pursuing God", or whatever that means to a human, who never really finds God, but rather finds that God reveals Himself at some point in time in some kind of way, which I DO NOT understand...

Yea, some time in 2007, when I began to become involved in various church ministries, the years flew by.  In fact, by 2009, I felt that maybe the last five or six years had gone by without me noticing some particular details.

I hadn't watched TV for some time, I hadn't listened to the radio or any mainstream music for the most part, and I had been so involved in what I could see and find in "my view" that as the culture was shifting, I was present, but not conscious.

Needless to say, once I hit the explorer button again I saw something. It was alarming! It was offensive! It was "two-thousand-nine and beyond!" And what had become normal and the new acceptable really confused me. Of course this is nothing new in life, the World, the U.S.A., my city, your city and so on...

So what was I to do. Suddenly I had recognized that there would soon be a battle coming. One between "Christian culture" (whatever that was suppose to be in my view versus anyone else.) "Modern Culture" (the socially normal and acceptable by way of media outlet/focus/drive) and my conviction. Yes, My Conviction. It battles with the faith and those who are part of it as well as those who are not... So I wrote a song.

Because I felt like the world and I were in a similar place... a "State of Confusion."

3 Weeks Back!!!

Three weeks back of old bro ties and hi fives
Three weeks back were long hug holds and good byes

Three weeks back settling dust left untouched
Three weeks back kicking up dust as a must

Three weeks back was facebook, phone talks and Skype calls
Three weeks back and most ain't heard a word from me at all

Three weeks back handling problems tryna solve them
Three weeks back explaining how I even got them

Three weeks back working loving my job
Three weeks back working to try to get a job

Three weeks back rehearsing getting ready to act together
Three weeks back ready to keep my act together

Three weeks back and it still feels like Three weeks back
Three weeks back is hard to feel the Three weeks back

Wrote this for you to see.

No not you......

You.

Your opinions are just as strong. Your statements are just as passionate. To not care is funny to me. Most times we may say we don't care at all. But sometimes its just that "I don't care about what you got going on. This is meaningless, because it's meaningless to me." Which is a form of care, at least for self. Self preservation, well, sorta. So if we back out, stop, let it go or whatever, we are making bigger and louder statements than we know. Because it's still a choice. We choose to continue for a reason, and to stop for a reason. Bottom line is. Your opinions are just as strong and your statements just as passionate. You just show it different.

I wrote this because I knew you would see it. Just for fun, just because, smiling the whole time. I know its not serious, and that you don't care. I know, I know. Let it go already. hahahahhhahaha

I don't understand Love

A conversation that almost turned argument got me to thinking: why can't we agree that we do not understand "Love." It really does not matter which type of love that may be because it is the essence of "love: that we truly cannot grasp. Before you get ideas about what I'm saying or how you feel, let me add some context to how my conversation with a good friend brought us both to ending it on this idea (not understanding).

This is simple, I stand  behind my point that "love is a choice." My friend says that though love "might" be a choice, love is actually more than that.

Now I could but I will not elaborate much on all that my friend said so I'll try to stick to my own argument, which will probably be sporadic, and I'm sorry if it becomes hard to follow, but I'm kinda thinking on a blank page right now. The truth is that i DO NOT understand love. try to examine with me. maybe a study will come and Ill add all my biblical references. but for now lets just - vent.

God chose to love us

God chose to create us and love us all the same

God is love but love is not God? (God shows us perfect love, we understand it through Him, so when we look at God we should see love even though we don't understand. But, because we don't fully understand love when we look at love we may not see God.)(God = love, but does love = God?)

I can choose to show you love or not to. Even if I felt like I did not chose to love you, if I do not act upon it than is it still love.

Love is not a feeling but with love comes feeling.

If you loved me then why can I chose to reject it. being that

Love is not insane or illogical and Love is not unfair. (we see love through broken lenses and
sometimes through broken hearts and hurt feelings and seemingly shattered dreams we conclude that love is or can be cruel, but if we look to things Biblical, God has been restoring and piecing together the picture as a complete thing. A perfect view that can only be understood by seeing the love of God in Christ through the Holy Spirit.)(and if God is the standard of love and has done it perfectly then love is logical and fair and very sane.)(His thought and ways are beyond ours or our understanding.)

Jesus commanded us to love, doesn't that signify that he wants us to chose to obey him and isn't loving God being obedient to him and it says that there is no fear in love because perfect love cast out fear. (so why are we afraid to love.)

We distort love and use it falsely which in reality is not love at all.

What I do know is that through Christ and the cross and the Resurrection that I came to understand just a little of what it means for God to love us, and having loved me in such a way that I should love the same, although my ability to love perfectly is not possible in this flesh.

Can unbelievers love? how about if they marry under the covenant of God, which is obedient, and never cheat or divorce? have they loved each other or even God?; even if unknowingly?

Being made in Gods image gives us the capacity to do certain things, how great may depend on whether or not you are "in him."

Originally we were made in his image and likeness. with sin we lost the likeness. in Christ we are conformed back to his likeness and able to love like he does, to some capacity. maybe?

So did God have to love us? Some say yes! others say no!
All I know is that God is in control and that He chooses what's happening and if all we know about the beginning is that God created (faring that he chose to) then all I can understand is that he also chose to love his creation; and that in every act, whether we understand or not, he continually is expressing his love which was complete in Christ. And that Is a love I do not understand. (As far as i can understand God, that is.) but as for myself, I did not use to love, i thought I had but truly had not, now I strive to truly love in a way that was only exemplified by my Lord. Choosing to to Love God and others through sacrifice and death to self for the sake of Christ name and the edification of the Body. Pointing you to the love i only know being that GOD LOVES YOU! if only you would chose to receive it and then [chose to follow], and thus love in the same.

but i don't know. If you do, I'd appreciate some help on this. or at least some thoughts. because at the end of the day I have to throw up my hand and confess. Maybe I just don't understand love. But i still think it is a choice.

My Passenger Seat: goodbye and hello...

Look,
I know a good woman when I see one
She gone ride with her man playin chicken with a cliff
As long as im gassin the clutch she aint gone jump ship
Because she trust that I'm gone win this match
It being my duty to keep her safe and alive

Even if she doubted she might close her eyes
Hold on to the handle and get ready for the dive
She loves me enough to not let me die alone

And that's why you've always been my woman!

But,
I'm not your man, though I let you hold my keys of access
You keep hitch-hiking
I'll be damned to see somebody else in my driver seat though
I still have the spare
In case you didn't notice, the garage is empty
Plenty gas in my vehicle, I'm on the road shifting

I Love You; A good woman I still see
I know of a few more out there
a few of them know me
I figured, I'd keep the doors locked till you are ready to get in
Instead, it's unlocked and I cleared the seat for someone else to sit in

I'm driving through this desert in the world of this country
A road trip for me
Until I see that good woman that I know
In my passenger seat

Back to a School Grind

I didn't have to work today. I came down to Moody because I have some work to do for a class that I was blessed to get an extension for. I saw some friends and it blessed my heart. I walked a little, that was good too. But I've now spent about five hours in the library today. It feels good. I've got alot to do but I am going to get it all done, and at a quality I haven't had time to produce in pass months and that is exciting for me.

I can not wait to get home and eat. Buying snacks here and there adds up so I gotta let that go, dang. On that note, I'm quite heated right now because I'm pretty sure I left the house this morning with my 7-day cta pass but now I can't find it. Trust me, I don't have it. I'll make some calls to see if I left it at the apt or at my friends pad that I stopped by to take a warm shower at, but if they say "no" then I literally wasted $23 and have to spend another $23. That's no bueno. That's that ____ I don't like!

Doesn't it always seem, that once your broke, you handle and steward money so much better. It's ridiculous. And because I jsut spent 2weeks in Cali I think my work check is going to be like $40. That's OK though, hahaha. God is so good that I know I dont have to be worried. I'll have enough for my bills by the end of the month. Praise the Lord!

Here's to just about being done with my first book, 29 more to go. Ima get this!

I've got work at 7am tomorrow. It's gone be cold in the morning. Amen! Then I'll head back to this library to get a lil more work and research done. I think I like this.

There is alot this is going to try to take place of what I left in this past year that will purposely make me "busy" again. To you I say "NO!" The Lord did not tell me to pick that up. So as a warning for now, please don't ask. I may be off from school this semester, BUT, that does not mean I have more time or money.

So soon I'll be starting a campaign  again to raise money for the next school year, not just semester. that's a $12 - $15,000 fundraising endeavor. I'm trusting God in how this all happens over the next seven months.

January and Febuary are the slowest months in a fiscal year. I might need to get another part time job.

Keep me in your prayers as things quickly progress and develope for me as I seek the wisdom, discernment and instructions of God. I won't make it without help. So until next time. Grace and peace in Christ Jesus.

Have You Heard Anything Yet?

I hear this question everyday, multiple times a day. Reason being, we still don't know whether I am in the clear as an official student or not. I use we because I don't know either. I initially had a meeting to lay out the facts of what my current situation looks like. The reality of options that may have to take course. I am suppose to be hearing from someone in the next few days as week two of this semester will begin. So, have I heard anything yet? Nope. But lets all just act as if I'm staying, I plan too. I heard from a friend that I'm hired for ajob that I interviewed for a week ago. Im hoping I can begin before the end of this week.

This week was exhausting. Not just for me, I've heard it from many students that the transition back to school has not been smooth at all. Everyone is tired, mentally drained, bodily fatigued. Hopefully this will all pan out very soon. (Shout out to my boy Chris Z., he just walked into my dorm room, he's my neighbor, he got me this job, I wrote the blog called "a canvas for God's glory" on him, go check it out.)

So the summer, it was great, crazy, long, stretching, hard and all other types of adjectives and verbs. I have things to tell but Ill get to those later. I have one year left in school. 18 units both semesters. I need some backup for this next year (aka prayer). Recovering from the summer mentally, physically and emotionally is a common theme. Pray for friends of mine who are struggling also. Just mention "and those whom D-Roc are connected to also." God knows, the homies and the ladies. I have to stay focused. Past relationships, current ones, those that have begun, they all play a role. God makes all things clear.

Thats the vague update... Gotta get back into the swing of writing.... look forward to words. Bless the Lord, I love you.

1st Words

Hello blog world,

I'm Delroy. Better known as D-roc by most. I've been here at Moody Bible Institute now for two full weeks and things are already in motion as God has been working all around. One of the first questions that i have been asked considering this blog is, "why is it called generation of eagles?"
To answer that:

When i first began a young mens group a few years ago at my church we were asked what kind of bird we were. The options were that of a chicken, a turkey, a hawk and a an eagle. It had been explained to us how the eagle is the most distinct bird, dwelling in the highest cliffs, a predator, endangered and to say the least "amazing, right!" So in the scheme of thinking on how to address this, i wanted it to be know that i do live in a generation of eagles. Particularly speaking of my fellow peers of whom are also very distinct, dwelling higher, predators for righteousness and endangered above all species. Christians! Yep. CHRISTIANS.
