She Is Not A Dream

She stood there
Rail gripped, big lips steady pokin out
Tattoo on the foot, what I'm talkin bout
Curly hair, Thick and black
Big bubble glasses to match it
Grey top wrapping top figure
For a moment I gave thought that I could get her since
Her facial expressions kept flexin when my eyes turn to meet her
Because my hope  is just to please her so that I could catch that smile again
Daydreaming
Mist of thought caught floatin in the wind

Eclectic in her style
The beauty of those big blue eyes behind clear lenses
Her dark hair compliments
Spots of tattoos and presence of past piercings
Damn, she's sexy
She rocks the hair well
No nail polish, no Amish in her bloodstream
No smile either
Good thing it was a daydream

Blonde hair though I call it brown
Green eyes sometimes take on a tint of brown
But she'll turn red when the sun smile at her too long
And she cant help but smile
That ponytail is so swell
I caught a whiff of fragrant shampoo I think
And I am satisfied
Because she is not a dream

At starbux charging my phone.

Whenever it's been a while since I've posted I feel like I should write some long memoir to update you on what's been going on in life between the last time you heard from me and now. But that just isn't the case here. I don't have to say anything. So why have a blog anyway? Hahahahaha....

It gives me the option and choice to share. So, things are fine. 11days. Too short. Coming quick. Going to the Aquarium today. Cool. Not enough time for everyone. Don't know how to go about this. But Jesus said. No worker puts his hands to the plow and then looks back. Gotta plan, gotta go, gotta do it. that's it. See ya'll soon.

LOVE.

The Crease

I wrote this poem on a piece with a crease

The wrinkle in this page; like the hiccup in my story

The conflict in my life

Drawing all that is against me.....It's a re-run

It keeps cutting off before the end

Like a TV series jumping through time with no resolve

Each season completing deep meaning of small parts,

that don't help me understand the main characters

Beautiful isn't it

No abstract Painting Presented Pitiful Perished

Instead they saw a masterpiece

The WHOLE broken picture

Misunderstood

Made to fit a frame of captured beauty

In plain sight, it, enhances my intellect

Informs my creativity, stretches my understanding

Raises my bar

Like

From broken life to hope in Christ

Like death in sin to salvation in Him

Like  facing trail and being acquitted

All because I knew I was wrong and then I admitted it

Still found to be useful

To deliver an earful, my tongue tool, a mouthful, of no bull

.....and that's kinda cool

So then what about you, you've got gifts too, He'll use you too

and we'll help, you'll see

That's why I wrote this poem on a piece with a crease

To tell his great testimonies

Of you

and

Me

"I" ... "I'm" ... "I" ...

I spend a lot of time alone. lol.

I have plenty of moments when I take deep breaths that come from what seems like absolutely nowhere.

I'm pretty sure they follow uncanny thoughts, emotions, visions and whatnot or whatever was there at the time.

I get the feeling of a deep hollow in my gut that strikes me with a quickened paralysis equivalent to that of panic/anxiety attacks, except that the panic and anxiety aren't present.

I wish there was a man that could actually be committed to helping me get to where I want to be in this life, to take me under the wing and train me. Not to just check up on me and sit and talk like they understand what I'm actually trying to get to. Action! You gotta be in my grill to get me to budge. But yall don't get it, you think it's part of the "being a man" stage. Well how the ---- does someone left to themselves become a man. I promise you that my whole generation feels this way. Though some of us are deceived because we are really trying on our own and just pray that God will get us there in your absence.

I don't know how to sleep well. So I only use what is sufficient to not die.

I don't eat as much because I've actually lost my appetite for life ever sense my granpa passed.

I've lately been using my margin money to do things that rich folks do; movies, shows, food, charity. The only problem is that I bear a consequence they do not. I'll end up broke and in a worse spot.

I miss my lil sister and mother worry about them often. Feel like I'm not a good enough big brother.

I'm scared I won't get back to school by the time the 2014 semester starts.

I'm wonder what I would do if I knew I was heading toward homelessness.

I met this young lady, trying to work out a day to go out, it's been almost 4yrs. (let this go tho, not open for discussion).

I want to go back to Kenya! That's what I really think about the most these days. Getting away from you all for a while. (you being entirely subjective, don't trip)

I'm tired of writing. Pray for me, if you will.

I don't understand Love

A conversation that almost turned argument got me to thinking: why can't we agree that we do not understand "Love." It really does not matter which type of love that may be because it is the essence of "love: that we truly cannot grasp. Before you get ideas about what I'm saying or how you feel, let me add some context to how my conversation with a good friend brought us both to ending it on this idea (not understanding).

This is simple, I stand  behind my point that "love is a choice." My friend says that though love "might" be a choice, love is actually more than that.

Now I could but I will not elaborate much on all that my friend said so I'll try to stick to my own argument, which will probably be sporadic, and I'm sorry if it becomes hard to follow, but I'm kinda thinking on a blank page right now. The truth is that i DO NOT understand love. try to examine with me. maybe a study will come and Ill add all my biblical references. but for now lets just - vent.

God chose to love us

God chose to create us and love us all the same

God is love but love is not God? (God shows us perfect love, we understand it through Him, so when we look at God we should see love even though we don't understand. But, because we don't fully understand love when we look at love we may not see God.)(God = love, but does love = God?)

I can choose to show you love or not to. Even if I felt like I did not chose to love you, if I do not act upon it than is it still love.

Love is not a feeling but with love comes feeling.

If you loved me then why can I chose to reject it. being that

Love is not insane or illogical and Love is not unfair. (we see love through broken lenses and
sometimes through broken hearts and hurt feelings and seemingly shattered dreams we conclude that love is or can be cruel, but if we look to things Biblical, God has been restoring and piecing together the picture as a complete thing. A perfect view that can only be understood by seeing the love of God in Christ through the Holy Spirit.)(and if God is the standard of love and has done it perfectly then love is logical and fair and very sane.)(His thought and ways are beyond ours or our understanding.)

Jesus commanded us to love, doesn't that signify that he wants us to chose to obey him and isn't loving God being obedient to him and it says that there is no fear in love because perfect love cast out fear. (so why are we afraid to love.)

We distort love and use it falsely which in reality is not love at all.

What I do know is that through Christ and the cross and the Resurrection that I came to understand just a little of what it means for God to love us, and having loved me in such a way that I should love the same, although my ability to love perfectly is not possible in this flesh.

Can unbelievers love? how about if they marry under the covenant of God, which is obedient, and never cheat or divorce? have they loved each other or even God?; even if unknowingly?

Being made in Gods image gives us the capacity to do certain things, how great may depend on whether or not you are "in him."

Originally we were made in his image and likeness. with sin we lost the likeness. in Christ we are conformed back to his likeness and able to love like he does, to some capacity. maybe?

So did God have to love us? Some say yes! others say no!
All I know is that God is in control and that He chooses what's happening and if all we know about the beginning is that God created (faring that he chose to) then all I can understand is that he also chose to love his creation; and that in every act, whether we understand or not, he continually is expressing his love which was complete in Christ. And that Is a love I do not understand. (As far as i can understand God, that is.) but as for myself, I did not use to love, i thought I had but truly had not, now I strive to truly love in a way that was only exemplified by my Lord. Choosing to to Love God and others through sacrifice and death to self for the sake of Christ name and the edification of the Body. Pointing you to the love i only know being that GOD LOVES YOU! if only you would chose to receive it and then [chose to follow], and thus love in the same.

but i don't know. If you do, I'd appreciate some help on this. or at least some thoughts. because at the end of the day I have to throw up my hand and confess. Maybe I just don't understand love. But i still think it is a choice.

In this minute

I have too much to say right now. Writing it would be like throwing up on this page. I have some work to do but I'm not far enough to feel secure about the way it is going to end up; though it will get it done. That's number one on the list right now so pray for that. everything want to get in the way of this objective right now, including myself.

Back to a School Grind

I didn't have to work today. I came down to Moody because I have some work to do for a class that I was blessed to get an extension for. I saw some friends and it blessed my heart. I walked a little, that was good too. But I've now spent about five hours in the library today. It feels good. I've got alot to do but I am going to get it all done, and at a quality I haven't had time to produce in pass months and that is exciting for me.

I can not wait to get home and eat. Buying snacks here and there adds up so I gotta let that go, dang. On that note, I'm quite heated right now because I'm pretty sure I left the house this morning with my 7-day cta pass but now I can't find it. Trust me, I don't have it. I'll make some calls to see if I left it at the apt or at my friends pad that I stopped by to take a warm shower at, but if they say "no" then I literally wasted $23 and have to spend another $23. That's no bueno. That's that ____ I don't like!

Doesn't it always seem, that once your broke, you handle and steward money so much better. It's ridiculous. And because I jsut spent 2weeks in Cali I think my work check is going to be like $40. That's OK though, hahaha. God is so good that I know I dont have to be worried. I'll have enough for my bills by the end of the month. Praise the Lord!

Here's to just about being done with my first book, 29 more to go. Ima get this!

I've got work at 7am tomorrow. It's gone be cold in the morning. Amen! Then I'll head back to this library to get a lil more work and research done. I think I like this.

There is alot this is going to try to take place of what I left in this past year that will purposely make me "busy" again. To you I say "NO!" The Lord did not tell me to pick that up. So as a warning for now, please don't ask. I may be off from school this semester, BUT, that does not mean I have more time or money.

So soon I'll be starting a campaign  again to raise money for the next school year, not just semester. that's a $12 - $15,000 fundraising endeavor. I'm trusting God in how this all happens over the next seven months.

January and Febuary are the slowest months in a fiscal year. I might need to get another part time job.

Keep me in your prayers as things quickly progress and develope for me as I seek the wisdom, discernment and instructions of God. I won't make it without help. So until next time. Grace and peace in Christ Jesus.

A thought tonight

Often times when people write we look for profound words that strectch down the vertical page(s); and I dont know how I feel about doing that, or even trying to do that right now.

There comes a time in a young mans life when he looks around and notices that no one is there in his moment of unsecured life. When he stands and makes a decision for himself. Not selfishly as if others arent on his mind. But one what cannot be altered because of worry in how that affects them. I dont know how to make that clear. I was thinking these thoughts today. I have not made such decisions yet,but truly I am sixty three days away from it. I dread the moment at this point in time. It changes everything, every plan. Yet, my life is the Lord's. I will not be shaken. So I apologize in advance for the pain that will come. On my end and yours if you may feel such emotions. I love you. And I may have said I never would, but I'm thinking that I just might! Let's keep praying on it.

Don't Look at Me!

I've avoided posting something for a good amount of time now. I'd tell you why but I'm not ready to. All I can say is that I have not wanted to be seen. In any way.

Fortunately, people have been praying. Because God surely intervened. Instead of being found out, or called out by someone elses misunderstanding, misconception or degree of misunderstood skepticism, God brought me again to a place of surrender. So I've sought out help. God is good.

So keep praying. Ill do my job to inform.

Peace be unto you! Trust, if it isn't, it can be.

Have You Heard Anything Yet?

I hear this question everyday, multiple times a day. Reason being, we still don't know whether I am in the clear as an official student or not. I use we because I don't know either. I initially had a meeting to lay out the facts of what my current situation looks like. The reality of options that may have to take course. I am suppose to be hearing from someone in the next few days as week two of this semester will begin. So, have I heard anything yet? Nope. But lets all just act as if I'm staying, I plan too. I heard from a friend that I'm hired for ajob that I interviewed for a week ago. Im hoping I can begin before the end of this week.

This week was exhausting. Not just for me, I've heard it from many students that the transition back to school has not been smooth at all. Everyone is tired, mentally drained, bodily fatigued. Hopefully this will all pan out very soon. (Shout out to my boy Chris Z., he just walked into my dorm room, he's my neighbor, he got me this job, I wrote the blog called "a canvas for God's glory" on him, go check it out.)

So the summer, it was great, crazy, long, stretching, hard and all other types of adjectives and verbs. I have things to tell but Ill get to those later. I have one year left in school. 18 units both semesters. I need some backup for this next year (aka prayer). Recovering from the summer mentally, physically and emotionally is a common theme. Pray for friends of mine who are struggling also. Just mention "and those whom D-Roc are connected to also." God knows, the homies and the ladies. I have to stay focused. Past relationships, current ones, those that have begun, they all play a role. God makes all things clear.

Thats the vague update... Gotta get back into the swing of writing.... look forward to words. Bless the Lord, I love you.

Birthday in the Hospital

Keep this between us ok. Thanks

Last night, May 7th, 11:48pm I walk off campus down Chicago Ave. I go to the store on Clark Street to grab a pepsi and some mentos, the night is feeling good, the weather is nice and  I want to clear my head and "walk" into another year of life. I went in the store and got my treats and as I walked out I routinly did what I always do, look to the left, look to the right. Everything was fine and it was now 11:58pm. I begin down Clark and see a man I know, he's homeless. I talk to him as aften as I see him, help him out when it is in my ability to do so, always speak the truth, never judge, sometimes ask questions and he tells me he loves me because of it. I love this guys too, shoot, I love everybody. Well, I saw him there on clark Street in his wheel chair and expected what would happen next. "D-ROC!....come here man."

"What up g?"

"Ahhh, listen to me D-Roc, I need you to get me to the hospital right now"

"What up man, what hap-"

"I just got stabbed b, I need to get to the hospital, come around front of me, look"

That was all I needed to here. In that jumbled  moment I aksed which way to the hospital, if he wanted an  ambulance, I didn't ask what happened or why, I just got behind him and grabbed the handles and started pushin. His front whell was broken and I had to lean the lil bit of weight that I am on to keep that gap from dipping and tipping him over and out of his chair.

I won't say his name, I won't give the detail of the whole night. After his CT scan I was able to stay with him, and I did, and we talked. A lot.  and dealt with the nurses and docters and his attitude and theirs and everything.

As I pushed that wheelchair to the hospital, I checked my watch and saw 12:08am. I told him to stay awake. "Hey g, it's my birthday now." he told me happy birthday. I stayed in that hospital next to his bed, watched him itch and scratch, squirt blood, hurt and moan, laugh, be angry etc... I talked to his mom on the phone. Again Ill spare details. But he told me "God sent you my way man, I know it." And I know it.

There was no major injury from the stab wounds thank God. He could sit up and talk and would be fine, although he did break his hand fighting back. I stayed there until 4:30am. This is finals week for us and I had lots of work to do today. Plans for today. Plans for a short walk last night that did not include being up until 5:30am. I spent my birthday in a hospital, next to a homeless friend who was stabbed, able to talk openly about God, able to glorify God right where I was. Yea, I spent my birthday in a hospital. What could've been better?

P.S. - he's ok. his mother picked him up about an hour ago. Now, at least for the time, he'll have a bed, food, and a woman of God to share in his life daily...Everybody. Please pray that God turns this man's heart and saves him. Amen
